Copyright & Notice-and-Notice Policy

Last updated 2026-07-24 · Version 2.0 · Metatrix Labs (Ontario, Canada).

Respect for intellectual property

Metatrix Labs operates metatrix.ai, a hosted AI platform on which users create, upload, and generate content (their “creations”). We respect the intellectual-property rights of others and expect every user to do the same. Uploading, generating, sharing, or distributing material that infringes another person’s copyright breaches our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. If you believe material hosted on metatrix.ai infringes your copyright, you can send us a notice using one of the processes below, and we will act on it in accordance with the applicable law.

How to report claimed copyright infringement (Canada)

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act for one) and you believe that material accessible on metatrix.ai infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to support@metatrix.ai. To be effective under Canada’s Copyright Act (section 41.25), your notice must contain all of the following:

  1. Your (the claimant’s) name, address, and other contact details;
  2. Identification of the copyright-protected work or other subject-matter to which the claimed infringement relates;
  3. A statement of your interest or right with respect to that work or subject-matter;
  4. The location data, such as the Uniform Resource Locator (URL), of the material that is claimed to infringe;
  5. The infringement that is claimed; and
  6. The date and time of the claimed infringement.

Notices must not contain (Canada, s. 41.25(3))

Under subsection 41.25(3) of the Copyright Act, a copyright infringement notice sent to us must not contain any of the following:

A notice that contains any of these elements is not compliant with Canadian law, and we may decline to act on it. Please remove any settlement offer, demand for payment or personal information, or related link before sending your notice.

Our Canadian notice-and-notice process

When we receive a notice that complies with the requirements above, we will, as an intermediary under Canada’s notice-and-notice regime:

Please note that Canadian law does not require us to remove or disable the identified material simply because we have received a notice. Forwarding a notice does not mean we have judged the claim to be valid. However, we may in our sole discretion remove, disable, restrict, or otherwise act on content that violates our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, independently of the notice-and-notice process.

United States — DMCA

For material connected to the United States, we also accept notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512). To submit a DMCA notification, send a written communication to support@metatrix.ai that includes:

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notification, we may remove or disable access to the material claimed to be infringing, and we will handle any counter-notifications as described below.

Counter-notice / disputes

If your content was removed or disabled under the DMCA and you believe this was the result of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to support@metatrix.ai. Your counter-notification should include your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location at which it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and telephone number, together with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice. Where the law permits, we may restore removed material after a valid counter-notification unless the original claimant notifies us that they have filed a court action. For material handled under the Canadian notice-and-notice regime, you may respond to a forwarded notice directly and may reply to us at the same address if you believe the claim is mistaken. We are not obliged to resolve copyright disputes between users and rights holders, and either party may pursue its legal remedies.

Repeat infringers

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate the accounts of users who are the subject of repeated copyright infringement claims, in appropriate circumstances and in accordance with our Terms of Service. A pattern of infringement, or repeated valid notices concerning the same user, may lead to loss of access to metatrix.ai.
