Billing, Subscriptions & Refunds

Last updated 2026-07-24 · Version 2.0 · Applies to the metatrix.ai service operated by Metatrix Labs (Ontario, Canada).

This Billing, Subscriptions & Refunds Policy (the “Billing Policy”) explains how payment would work if and when Metatrix Labs (“Metatrix Labs”, “we”, “us” or “our”) offers paid features on the metatrix.ai service (the “Service”). It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Where this Billing Policy and the Terms of Service address the same subject, this Billing Policy governs for billing matters. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Service.

1. Current status — the Service is free today

metatrix.ai is currently free to use. As of the effective date above, we do not charge for access to the Service and we do not collect payment information for general use.

This Billing Policy is forward-looking. It applies if and when Metatrix Labs offers paid features, subscriptions or other paid options. If we introduce anything paid, the specific prices, the features included, the billing frequency and any additional terms will be presented to you at the point of purchase, clearly and before you pay. You will always have the opportunity to review those details and decline before any charge is made. Nothing in this Billing Policy commits you to pay anything while the Service remains free, and no charge will ever apply to a feature unless you have first agreed to its price at checkout.

2. Fees & taxes

If you purchase a paid feature or subscription, you agree to pay the fees shown to you at the point of purchase, in the currency indicated at checkout, together with all applicable taxes. Depending on your place of supply, applicable taxes may include Canadian federal Goods and Services Tax / Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST), provincial sales tax where it applies and, for customers in Quebec, Quebec Sales Tax (QST), as well as any equivalent value-added, consumption or sales taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.

Unless we state otherwise at checkout, prices are shown exclusive of taxes, and applicable taxes are calculated and added based on the billing information you provide. You are responsible for providing accurate billing and location details so that the correct taxes are applied. If any withholding or similar deduction is required by law, the amounts payable will be adjusted as required so that we receive the fee shown at purchase.

3. Billing cycle & auto-renewal

If we offer subscriptions, each subscription runs for the term shown to you at purchase (for example, a monthly or annual term). Subscriptions may renew automatically for successive terms of the same length unless you cancel, so that your access continues without interruption. Where a subscription is set to auto-renew, that will be disclosed to you clearly before you buy.

4. Cancellation & refunds

We offer cancellation and refunds in a manner consistent with applicable consumer-protection law, including the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and, for residents of Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec). Where those laws grant you rights to cancel a contract — including any applicable distance-contract or remote-agreement cancellation rights and any statutory cooling-off period — those rights apply in full and are not reduced by this Billing Policy.

Any voluntary refund terms we present at checkout are in addition to, and do not limit, the cancellation and refund rights the law gives you.

5. Price changes

We may change the price of a paid feature or subscription. We will give you advance notice of any price change through the Service, by email or by another method permitted by law, with the notice period any applicable law requires. A price change takes effect on your next billing term — it does not change the price of a term you have already paid for. If you do not agree to a new price, you may cancel before it takes effect, as described in Sections 3 and 4, so that you are not charged the new amount.

6. Failed payments & suspension

If a charge for a paid feature cannot be completed — for example, because a card is expired, declined or has insufficient funds — we may attempt to process the payment again and will ask you to update your payment details. If a payment remains unpaid, we may suspend or limit access to the affected paid feature after giving you reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to fix the problem. Suspension of a paid feature for non-payment does not, by itself, affect your access to any parts of the Service that remain free.

7. Chargebacks

If you believe you have been charged in error or have any other billing concern, please contact us first at support@metatrix.ai so we can look into it and resolve it with you directly — this is almost always the fastest way to fix a billing issue. Starting a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider before contacting us can delay resolution and may lead to suspension of paid features while the dispute is investigated. Contacting us first does not waive, and is without prejudice to, any rights you have with your payment provider or under applicable law.

8. No waiver of mandatory rights

Nothing in this Billing Policy limits, overrides or waives any consumer right that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you, including non-waivable rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec). If any part of this Billing Policy conflicts with a mandatory consumer right, that mandatory right prevails, and the rest of this Billing Policy continues to apply.

9. Contact

Questions about billing, subscriptions, cancellations, refunds or taxes can be sent to support@metatrix.ai. For the master agreement governing your use of the Service, see our Terms of Service.

⌬ metatrix.ai is free today; this policy applies only if and when we offer paid features — and if we do, the exact price and terms are shown to you at checkout before you pay, subscriptions renew only with notice and can be cancelled to stop further charges, applicable taxes such as GST/HST and Quebec QST are added, and your non-waivable consumer rights under Ontario and Quebec law, including cancellation and refund rights, are fully preserved.
