Not for children
metatrix.ai (the “Service”) is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The minimum age to use the Service is 16, as set out in our Terms of Service. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in the province, state, or country where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for your use of it. We do not create accounts or knowingly build profiles for people below these ages.
Age rules by region
We serve a global audience, and local law sets different thresholds for the age at which a person can consent to the handling of their own personal information. We apply the following rules:
- Canada & Quebec. Under Quebec’s Law 25, we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian, except where the collection is clearly for the child’s benefit. Across Canada, we handle personal information in line with applicable privacy law, including PIPEDA.
- United States. Under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- European Union & United Kingdom. Where a higher local digital-consent age applies (this can be up to 16 depending on the country), we honour that higher age and treat it as the threshold for that user.
Where these regional thresholds differ, the higher applicable age governs, and our overall minimum age to use the Service remains 16.
No profiling or advertising to anyone
We run no advertising and we do not profile users — adults or minors. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use automated profiling to make decisions that target or categorise individuals for marketing. This applies to every user of the Service, regardless of age or region.
If we learn we collected a minor's data without required consent
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child below the applicable age without the required parental or guardian consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without proper consent, please contact us at support@metatrix.ai so we can locate and remove it.
Guidance for parents and guardians
If you are a parent or legal guardian and you believe your child has used the Service or provided personal information, you can ask us to review, correct, or delete that information, and you can withdraw any consent you previously gave. To make a request, contact support@metatrix.ai and tell us enough to identify the relevant information (for example, the email address or account involved). We may need to verify your identity and your relationship to the child before acting, so that we protect the child’s information from unauthorised access. Once verified, we will action reasonable requests without undue delay.
